Clinical Practice Guidelines

  • A 2020 clinical practice guideline by the North American Spine Society (NASS) addressed multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of low back pain. It included evaluation of the reliability of McKenzie methods, Hall’s criteria, Child’s clinical prediction rules and treatment via conservative physical therapeutic modalities, spinal manipulative therapy (SMT), acupuncture and cognitive behavioral care. Evidence for pharmacological care and more invasive surgical interventions were also outlined.
